Abraham Jebediah Simpson I (summer 1803- fall 1912) was the paternal great-grandfather and namesake of Abraham Simpson II.
Abraham was indefinitely named after Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, who directly helped Virgil and Mabel escape from slaveholders pursuing them. He was born after Mabel and Virgil married in Canada, and is briefly seen in the episode wearing Lincoln's tall hat, which had been given by Lincoln. Abraham is also half-Black due to the fact that his father, Virgil Simpson, is Black. At some point in his life, when he was an adult, Abraham possibly married Gabby Crouse and had five children with her: Lou, Dulcine, Hugo, Gaston, and "Old Tut".
He also invented a tonic for improving one's sex life when finding a cheap alternative for holy water.

- Abraham is a great-great-great-grandfather of Bart, Lisa, and Maggie and a half-great-great-great-great-great-granduncle of Milhouse. The Simpson children and Milhouse are distantly related through Abraham's mother, Mabel. Milhouse and Lisa's non-canon daughter, Zia, will be a great-great-great-great-granddaughter and a half-six-times-great-grandniece to Abraham at the same time.
- He looks like his great-great-great-grandson, Bart, but his hair is longer and more ruffled, as opposed to Bart's spikes.
