Michael Joseph Middlestone (born November 5, 1968) is an English chef, restaurant owner, TV personality, and author based in Springfield. He's known for being the widower of the late Fay Middlestone, as well as the father of Rapsta Chik and the late Amy Middlestone.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Born in Birmingham, England in 1968, Michael and his family moved to Springfield in 1979. In 1982, at the age of thirteen, Michael met and befriended Fay Campbell, and they began dating. Michael stayed by Fay's side as she experienced a brief career as a one-hit wonder teen popstar, and two years later, Fay became pregnant unexpectedly. The teens' parents had no idea how to handle this teenage pregnancy, so in May 1985, after both teenagers had turned sixteen, they were forced to marry. While Fay and Michael genuinely loved each other a lot, they weren't ready for the responsibility of marriage and children, which in turn soured their relationship. After their daughter Amanda was born a week after the wedding, both teenagers dropped out of school, with Fay becoming a housewife and Michael taking on a job at a restaurant. Two years later, Fay embarked on an acting career, playing a minor role in the Bullies franchise alongside Cecelia Fasesha, while Michael worked his way up the career ladder and became known in Springfield for being an accomplished chef.

Divorce, Career, and Re-Marriage[]

In the mid-90s, Fay and Michael's marriage began to suffer, and with Fay being infertile since giving birth to Amanda, they adopted another daughter, Amelia, named Amy for short. This didn't work saving their marriage, and they ended up divorcing in 1998. Michael remained single, focusing on his business, eventually opening his own restaurant, Michael's, that served many celebrities over the years. Fay re-married and had a child named Zachary, who grew up to be a music producer. A chance encounter at Michael's restaurant led to Fay and Michael reconnecting, and Fay admitted that she missed Michael a lot. Fay divorced her new husband, and in 2003, Fay and Michael officially reunited and married, this time completely on their own terms and not because they were forced into it. The next year, nineteen year old Amanda married billionaire Artie Ziff, and neither Fay or Michael were impressed, with Artie being a full fourteen years older than her.

Later Life[]

Michael and Fay supported Amanda through the breakdown of her marriage, the loss of her daughter, her remarriage to Bart Simpson, the birth of her twins, and watched as she grew from a struggling rapper to a global sensation as Rapsta Chik. But while one of Michael's daughters flourished, tragedy struck the other. Amy died at the age of eighteen in January 2013, having suffered a heart attack at a New Year's party, and she passed away the next day. The entire family was dealt a heavy blow by Amy's loss, and Michael even renamed his restaurant Amy's in her memory. While Fay restarted her acting and music career, Michael wrote some cookbooks and even had a cooking segment on Opal. In 2016, tragedy struck the family once again when Fay was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Fay managed to survive for four years, ultimately passing away in September 2020. Michael was crushed by losing his wife, the only woman he ever loved, and he briefly took time off from his cooking segment, moving in with Amanda and her wife Rachel Layton for a while to get him back on his feet. Michael returned to his cooking segment in July 2021, having rediscovered his passion, and he keeps photographs of Amy and Fay hung up in the wall of his restaurant in their memory.
