Superhero is the debut studio album by Caribbean recording artist Jane Mik, released on November 14, 2013, by Low Price Records. It features the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles "Superhero" and "Get Yourself Back Home".

PromotionEdit

On October 4, 2013, a promotional ad was released to Australian television, which features Mik dancing to Rihanna's "Only Girl (In the World)" in the middle of a forest. It's 30 seconds long and finishes with a black screen which says: SUPERHERO... Coming Soon. Mik then revealed the release date was November 14 and confirmed the tracklist.

Mik embarked on the Brooks Family Tour to promote the album in January 2014.

SinglesEdit

"Superhero" was released as the album's lead single on March 26, 2013. It was the first of four covers to be included in the album. Produced by Young Prince, it peaked at number 1 in the US Billboard Hot 100 and other 8 countries. Its music video, filmed on March 26 and 27, was directed by Mat Whitecross and released on April 4, 2013.

"Get Yourself Back Home", with Young Prince, was released as the album's second single on July 9, 2013. It became the second of four covers to be included in the album, and the album's most successful single, topping the charts of over 20 countries. It was produced by Young Prince and released through Low Price and Young Life Records. Its music video was co-directed by Prince, Director X and Alan Ferguson, who directed Rapsta Chik's scene. Filmed on July 13 and 14, and on August 4, it was released as a short film on September 5, 2013. It received 500.000 views in an hour, a record for both Mik and Prince, which they later surpassed with 800.000 views in an hour, with the release of the song's remix music video. It features cameo appearances of Johnny Dub, Jamie Foxx, Bart Simpson and some of Mik's friends, who had co-stared on the "Superhero" music video.

"Ooh La La" was released as the first promotional single from the album on July 20, 2013, as part of the Young Life Records: Cover Week EP. It's the third of four covers to be included in the album.

"Q.U.E.E.N.", featuring Sarah Janet Simpson and Rapsta Chik, was released as the album's second promotional single on September 10, 2013. A music video for the song was set to be released in October 2013, however Mik decided not to release it.

"Fever" was released as the album's third single on December 6, 2013. Its music video, directed by Terry Richardson, was released on January 2, 2014.

"Broken", featuring Big Sean, was released as the official fourth and final single on March 25, 2014, with its accompanying music video being released on March 30, 2014.
